- Richard Rathbone (r.j.a.r.rathbone{at}btopenworld.com) is an Emeritus Professor of African History at SOAS and an honorary professor in History at Aberystwyth University. He is the author of a number of books, including Murder and Politics in Colonial Africa (Yale), Nkrumah and the Chiefs: The Politics of Chieftaincy in Ghana, 1951–1960 (Ohio), and, with John Parker, A Very Short Introduction to African History (Oxford).
