Following its UN admission in 1957, Ghana participated actively in world affairs, and its impact on the UN endured into the long 1970s. The article will examine how Jiagge played an integral role in drafting the Declaration on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, respectively, which to this day are the principal mechanisms defining and protecting women’s rights at the global level.
