Rebecca Shumway () is assistant professor in the Department of History at the College of Charleston. She is the author of The Fante and the Transatlantic Slave Trade and coeditor with Trevor R. Getz of Slavery and Its Legacy in Ghana and the Diaspora. Her work has appeared in the International Journal of African Historical Studies, History in Africa, Slavery and Abolition, and edited collections.
